The Ministry of Fisheries held a Mid- Term review of the Deepwater Management Plan 2017-2019 which commenced on the 9th and ended on the 15th August 2018.
The purpose of this review is to evaluate the progress of implementing of the plan in the last 18 months
.
The Ministry was fortunate to have Ms. Toni Ferdinands, a Senior Pacific Fisheries Advisor from Fisheries New Zealand, engaged with the Management Division in evaluating and discussion progress of strategies and activities in the implementation schedules of the plan and to ensure that objectives were achieved.
The review team also identified challenges of meeting objectives and also set priority activities to be delivered in the remaining life of the plan. This was indeed a great in-depth discussion as the Ministry is able to see the progress of this plan. The outcome of this mid review will be presented in the PMG meeting which will be held on September 2018.
